In one of my favourite picture books, The Mousehole Cat, by Antonia Barber (beautifully illustrated by Nicola Bayley), a Cornish Fisherman named Tom and his cat, Mowzer, take on the Great Stormcat and return to the village of Mousehole, triumphant and laden with fish.
Well, we're based in St Agnes rather than Mousehole, but we took inspiration for our name from the pie that the villagers make with their bounty of fish, the 'Stargazy Pie'. I hope that we will have all of the bravery and luck of Mowzer and Tom as we go to print with our first book.
We are keen to support local industry, so Cloth Monkey will be printed and launched right here in the West Country :)
